President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar came out during the early stages of the pandemic infestation to claim a COVID-19 cure. On Sunday Evening,July 5th, he announced Hard Lockdown Regulations in one of country’s capital city.
The cure, named COVID-Organics, derived from the plant Artemesia, a plant with a proven history to treat malaria but was not scientifically recommended to treat COVID19.
But Rajoelina promoted COVID-Organics claiming it was Madagascar’s “green gold”.
To this day, there has been little information released by scientists regarding COVID-Organics being a cure. The good news delivered by the President of Madagascar has turned sour into a bitter pill.
Briefing the country on Sunday, President Rajoelina announced the capital city, Antananarivo, is going under new lockdown after noticing a new “surge in coronavirus infections”. The country had eased lockdown regulations for a period of two months.
In a statement, Rejoelina said, “The Analamanga Region (Under which the capital is situated) is returning to full lockdown.”
The recovery percentage of Madagascar is less than 40% while in countries like South Africa, who do not have a cure, have a recovery percentage of above 50 %. It stands with 2 941 infections, 32 casualties and 1 108 recoveries.
What can one conclude from this information? COVID-Organics does not work? Or is there someone hindering Madagascar’s chance to change the world?
