Egor People Voice Their Confidence in Hon. Stewart’s Ability to Promote Wealth Creation through Agripreneurship

Lucky Okoedion, Benin City.
Agripreneurship refers to entrepreneurship in agriculture.
In their continuous appeal for Honorable Stewart Efe to accept to serve as Chairman of the local government, a request which he is yet to respond to, a group of think-tanks from Egor Local Government area of Edo State recently, in an online forum, reiterated their confidence in Hon. Stewart Efe’s ability to steer the local government to a more prosperous future. Though this forum comprised of men, women, boys and girls from different political divides, yet they were unanimous in their desires for a more prosperous Egor Local Government area and in their confidence in Honorable Stewart Efe being the right man for the job.
One of those who commented, Prince Kallison Ogiesoba Omo Eki Orumwensodia singled out “farming and its value chains” as an opportunity that he believes an Egor local government area led by Honorable Stewart can help the people to benefit from. He stressed that “the only way forward for Nigeria is for us to embrace farming of all kind… There are many avenues in its value chains…. the best ways are in cooperative groups…”.
The moderator of the forum however pointed out that “many of our youths don’t think that there is money in farming. We need people to explain it very well for everyone to see how lucrative it can be. Our people want to make money and free their family from poverty. They need to see how there is money in farming. I agree with you that there is money in it. But how do we explain it to our youths? They like to see living proofs of those who are making it with farming. A guy told me the other day how some time ago they were asked to fill forms, provide passport to join a cooperative to get Agric funds from banks. But till today, they don’t even know whether the money came or how it went. We have also heard allegations of people using people to collect Agric funds, only to channel it into something else. We need to reason together and find a way to really make sure that the funds get to the right people and the agriculture is really happening.”
Reacting, Prince Kallison Ogiesoba Omo Eki Orumwensodia went on to stress that ” A good lecture room need to be created…. I do tell my friends and family members that if Nigeria wants to progress and develop, We have to start from the grassroots, going from ward to ward…. Egor needs to start the lectures from the wards… And secondly, the next local government chairman, hopefully Honorable Stewart Efe, needs to map out the wards for effective administration”
